Bundesliga Coaches Light Up Borussia Academy Singapore

This week, Borussia Academy Singapore was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed a very special delegation all the way from Germany. For four unforgettable days, our young athletes had the unique opportunity to train under the guidance of top youth coaches from Borussia Mönchengladbach, one of Germany’s most storied Bundesliga clubs.

Leading the visiting team was Wolfgang "Wolle" Heilmann, Head of International Football Schools at Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was thanks to Wolle’s leadership and passion for youth football that this exceptional coaching team made the journey to Singapore — and what a week it was!

"Coach Wolle made every session fun. We learned so much, but it never felt like a classroom. We were always moving, laughing and improving!" said Ari from Borussia Academy’s B11 Puma Youth Champions League team.

Joining Wolle were several outstanding coaches who each brought their own unique expertise and energy to the sessions:

  • Patrick Herrmann — Former Bundesliga professional with over a decade at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Patrick captivated the kids with stories from his professional career, offering invaluable insights and motivation for all aspiring young players. His hands-on approach and constant encouragement made a lasting impression on our players.

  • Dirk Valley — A familiar face at Borussia Academy Singapore, Dirk returned for his fourth visit, once again delivering top-level training and technical sessions that challenged and inspired both new and returning players.

  • Tom Bleck — Making his debut in Singapore, Tom brought fresh perspectives, infectious enthusiasm and sharp technical drills that had our players fully engaged from start to finish.

Throughout the camp, the coaches were highly impressed by the level of play, determination and resilience shown by all participants. "The kids’ skills, their attitude on the pitch and their willingness to learn were truly outstanding," Coach Wolle shared.

As the camp concluded, both players and coaches left with new experiences, improved skills and many great memories. A heartfelt thank you to all parents for your support and to our Borussia Academy Singapore players — you made us proud.
